Day 1. Moscow.


Moscow is the heart of Russia, the cross roads for centuries. It reflect the history of Russia, depicts its past, present and future. Modern Moscow combines old traditions and contemporary style of life of a busy city. It forms the new history of new Russia.

Day 4. Uglich.


Founded in 1148, Uglich is one of the most beloved towns in old Russia. The view of the town as it is approached from the Volga River is especially lovely with the Cathedral of the Resurrection and St. John's Church looming on the horizon. At the end of the 16th century, Maria Nagaya, seventh wife of Ivan the Terrible, lived in honorary exile in the Kremlin at Uglich. It was here in her garden that the Tsarevich Dmitry met his death and where the Church of St. Demitrius of the Blood was built and still stands today. Within the Kremlin is the oldest building in Uglich, the Palace of Tsarevich Dmitry.

Day 5. Yaroslavl.


Yaroslavl belongs to the "Golden Ring" cities of Russia and it's one of the largest centres of Russian architecture and arts of the 13th - 17th centuries. The city has a lot of historical and architectural monuments. The most ancient among them are Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery in the centre of the city, founded in the 12th century (the famous collector of literature masterpieces A.I. Misin-Pushkin found there the manuscript of "Slovo o Polku Igoreve" - one of the sacred items of Russian literature, at the end of the 18th century); former Metropolichii chambers (the 17th century), Znamenskaya and Uglichskaya towers of "Zemlyanoy city" in 17th century, the church of Ilia Prorok (1605) with wonderful fresco paintings, the churches of Nicola Nadein (1622) and of Rozhdestva Khristova (1644), the set of religious architecture in Korovniki, the church of Nickola Morskoy (1672).

Day 6. Goritsy.


Goritsy is a tiny settlement seven kilometres from the Kiritlo-Belozersky Monastery. Goritsy not included on the official sightseeing itinerary, but visit what remains of the Nunnery of the Resurrection on the banks of the Sheksna River in Goritsy, within a quarter of a mile of where the ship stop, will be interesting for any tourist with a real interest in Russian history.

Day 7. Kizhi.


Kizhi - is an island in the Onega lake, where a set of wooden constructions has been preserved from the Kizhski pogost. The route from Novgorod to Belomorie has passed through this lake since the fourteenth century.

The Picturesque Preobrazhenskaya church with 22 domes built in 1714, pokrovskaya church with 9 copolas built in 1764, hipped-roofed bell-tower (1874) make a unique composition of striking beauty with the wooden Lazarevskaya church of Murom monastery built in the 14th century, it is extreamley interesting Dwellings and household equipment of the 17th to 19th centuries were moved to Kizhi. In 1960 the island was turned into a museum-reserve of national wooden architecture and ethnography.

Day 8. Mandroga.


Verchnie Mandrogi is situated in Podporozhsky district of Leningrad region in 300 km from St. Petersburg on the river Svir which connects two lakes - Onega and Ladoga.

It should be mentioned that being an accomplished complex, the whole village is of great interest for the tourists who are cruising form Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Village dwellers are always happy to meet the guests and organize something special for them. There is a museum of Russian vodka and traditional spirit brewing where you can get acquainted with the history of Russian vodka industry. You can also visit Remeslennuyu Slobodu, try some national Russian dishes, walk in the picturesque woods.

Day 9. St Petersburg.


St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

Its unique, specific character is reflected in magnificent buildings of St. Petersburg, its straight lines of its street, its green parks and gardens, in the smooth surface of its rivers and channels, in the embankments, it is full of monuments from history and architecture, it has 363 bridges, beautiful fences, and many outstanding works of monumental sculpture.
